Explaining Islam at School

Be Honest - Be honest about what you do and don't know. You are not an Islamic scholar and you don't have to be. So if somebody asks about something you don't know a lot about, you can be honest and say you don't know.

Break it down and use examples - Sometimes it may be easier to explain to others when you give them something that they already understand. for instance, for Ramadan you can mentioned Lent which is a Christian tradition where Christians give up something for a few weeks.

Ask for help - if you feel like you don't know the answer and just need some help, ask your parents for help answering the question. There are also online resources, articles, and videos which help tackle commonly asked questions.

If you feel cornered - InshAllah it never happens, but if you feel like somebody is mocking you or your religion, politely excuse yourself, and let your parents know.
