Here is a list of resources which are great for Muslim girl teens. You can use these resources to create your own halaqas. One of the books may be suited for a Book Club Halaqa or you may find one of the clips from the speakers listed below a great conversation starter. Joy Jots by Tamara Gray - book with weekly topics that are paired with reflections and projects; great for introspection and practical advice
Reclaim your Heart by Yasmin Mogahed - the author's reflections are very insightful and relevant to young women, focuses on spiritual growth
Rising Soul by Dr. Muhammad Mansur - short chapters but cohesive about how to instill Islamic character and worship
The War within our Hearts by Habeeb and Sa'ad Quadri - an easy read geared for younger audiences which discusses common topics faced by Muslim teens including parties, social media, and interacting with parents
Life Coaching for Muslims by Sayeda Habib - a practical guide to improve self esteem and self care, enhance relationships, goal setting, and more
In the Footsteps of the Prophet by Tariq Ramadan - a wonderful telling of the life and Seerah of Prophet Muhammad PBUH
The Ideal Muslimah by Muhammad Ali Al-Hashimi- reference book with characterstics of an ideal Muslimah with evidence of the Quraan and Sunnah, suited for when preparing a Halaqa
The Journal for Muslims - daily journal which helps Muslims keep track of prayer, goals, and areas of improvement paired with daily Quraanic verse
The Muslim Mindset by Zakia Khalil - an easy read about how to keep a positive mindset, maintain focus, and live a life pleasing to Allah SWT - lots of practical tips and advice
The Productive Muslim by Faris Mohammad - a guide to show people of all ages how to boost their day in all respects - physically, spiritually and socially
The Noble Qur'an - gives word for word translation by hovering over the Arabic text, and click each word for pronunciation
Yaqeen Institute - develops Islamic scholarly material, highly recommend looking at the infographics - excellent teaching tool, and their Conversations Cards are very creative and interactive, and take the Spiritual Personality Quiz for some insight into how you practice your faith
The Family and Youth Institute - excellent resource for strengthening family and relating to the Youth - great videos, articles, and infographics; topics include premarital sex, suicide prevention, bullying, and how to relate to the youth
Free Quran Education - Animated YouTube videos which give excellent summaries of important topics (ex. "Why do innocent people suffer"), recommend looking at Understand and Memorize Quran Project, and Duaa Project
Sunnah.com - organized resource which lists hadiths - great to start an introductory study of hadith or as a reference
Productive Muslim - excellent free articles and info graphics about being a productive Muslim and organizers for Ramadan
American Learning Institute for Muslims - articles and videos for higher level concepts, also highly recommend the course for college students
Sujood.co - pick an emotion that you're feeling, and this website will come up with a list of duaas relevant to the emotion
Quran Weekly - short videos from a series of scholars about moving ayas/verses in the Quran; would make a great introduction to a halaqa
Seekers Guidance - excellent videos and podcasts about relevant topics for Muslims, would be great to listen to one and summarize for your halaqa
Halal Tube - this library of educational videos is a great resource, you can search by topic or speaker
MYNA Youth Resources - a collection of articles and videos geared for Muslim youth with relevant topics including racism, coping skills, and more
Leadership Geeks - resources for leadership, and also includes a list of great icebreakers that would be great for halaqas; check out our own list under Creative Ideas
